Despite retiring from competitive basketball, Phei San’s love for basketball remains strong. She dedicates her time working with the Youngsters Basketball Club in Penang, unearthing and developing young basketball talents. She runs basketball clinics, camps, organizes basketball tournaments (both local and international), 3×3 basketball competitions, working hand in hand with clubs and the Penang state government in grooming future basketball players for the nation. Phei San firmly believes that basketball instills positive values in the youth, cultivating team spirit and discipline, engaging them to stay focused with a dream and a goal in mind, keeping them fit and away from negative influences.

A true blue PCGS alumna, from Kindergarten to High School, PCGS has indeed shaped and supported me into the person and basketball player that I am today. Facilities at PCGS made it possible for me to develop my basketball skills over the years. I am grateful for the joint effort and hard work of my coaches and teammates then, which made me achieve my dream to become an elite basketball player. Teachers and fellow students too, were very encouraging and supportive of my endeavours, fortifying my passion and development in the sport. My talent was discovered and nurtured from primary school days, representing first PCGPS, PCGHS, Penang State, to being a junior national player while still in secondary school and finally, a national basketball player representing Malaysia. To this day, I insist on playing basketball weekly at my alma mater’s basketball court, as a training partner to younger players, motivating and inspiring them, as how I was inspired before!
